It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Mr. Muhammad Usman Abbasi has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation on Friday, 17th of September 2021. The title of his thesis was "Quality Assessment and Parameter Estimate of Bio-signals for Health Care" under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Tariq. His examiners were Prof. Dr. Yasar Ayaz (SMME NUST, Islamabad), Dr. Muhammad Gufran (FAST NUCES, Faisalabad), and Dr. Safdar Nawaz (UET Peshawar). They all declared the thesis as outstanding and world-class. His research work was a joint collaboration between the University of Oxford, UK, and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. He spent time at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Engineering Science, the University of Oxford working in the labs and hospitals to acquire, process, and implement Electroencephalography and Electromyography signals. His research work was sponsored by various funding agencies and his traveling and stay at Oxford University was fully funded by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan He published three papers in IEEE and Elsevier Journals during his research having 12+ impact factors. We congratulate Dr. Usman and his supervisor Dr. Muhammad Tariq for producing yet another quality Ph.D. graduate.
